Financial Statements are often referred to as the “language of business”; they reflect the financial effects of business transactions and events of a given company.  Today’s competitive landscape demands that HR Professionals understand the basic concepts of financial statements and how their decision making impacts a company’s financial health.

Do you have to be a CPA to possess financial acumen?  No, but your basic understanding of financial statements will position you to better communicate important HR data, spot industry trends, and to become fluent in the “language of business".

November 14: Using Analytics to Diagnose and Solve Human Capital Retention Challenges to Impact Business Outcomes

** Please note that due to the Thanksgiving holiday this meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 14th **

Approved for HRCI Business Credits

Employee retention continues to be a critical issue for organizations that remains unsolved. Unfortunately, there are many unproven theories and anecdotes floating around that don’t really help organizations manage human capital retention/ turnover. The purpose of analytics is to provide actionable data so that leaders can make better decisions – short-term and long-term.  C-suite leaders must understand the drivers of employee retention in order to make the decisions to impact the drivers. Retention is not HR's responsibility; it is the entire organizations responsibility. Without key leadership support, buy in and allocation of resources (budget), nothing will change.

In his session, attendees will learn how to use data that they already have and overlook to:

  • Diagnose their company’s drivers of retention of Human Capital
  • Make that data actionable for all leaders in their organization
  • Present the information to senior leaders to gain buy-in and to front-line leaders to make the analytics actionable.
  • Teach/demonstrate  HR professionals how they can become a "business partner" at their organization by having direct impact on a major business initiatives

About the Presenter: Scott Mondore, Ph.D., is a predictive analytics expert, technology innovator, best-selling author and speaker with nearly two decades of experience in the areas of HR technology, analytics, strategy, talent management, measurement, organizational development and customer experience. Scott is a pioneer in developing the new way for HR to approach surveys and assessments: moving from a focus on the outcomes of surveys to utilizing surveys and assessments to impact business outcomes. As a way to lead this change, he and Dr. Douthitt harnessed their HR expertise, business experience, and advanced knowledge of statistical methodologies to co-author two books. “Investing in What Matters: Linking Employees to Business Outcomes” (SHRM, 2009) and “Business-Focused HR: 11 Processes to Drive Results” (SHRM, 2011), have both been Top 10 SHRM best-sellers for multiple years.
