Upcoming LakeNormanHR Programs:

July 18:  Using Coaching vs. Mentoring to Enhance Succession Planning and Impact Your Organization

with Dr. Catherine Burr, University of Phoenix

Approved for 1.5  SHRM PDC and HRCI Credits

Does mentoring impact succession to executive leadership positions? This program will discuss research to determine the impact of mentoring vs. coaching on advancement to leadership positions. Face-to-face interviews of 20 executives who shared the essence of the lived experience in executive positions revealed six emerging themes to describe the development of the mentoring experience related to ascent to leadership positions.
By the end of the session you’ll learn:
1.     How research supports mentoring as a component of succession planning.
2.     How to differentiate mentoring vs. coaching.
3.     How to identify emerging themes from research to share with leaders to assist in developing succession planning programs.
4.     How to apply your learnings back in your workplace to influence your leaders.
